Understanding Google SSO App Approvals

Ballinger ISD now uses Google as our Single Sign-On (SSO) provider. This means:
- Your Google account is now your "master key" for all educational websites that fall outside of Clever.
- Our domain has enhanced security measures in place for your protection
- New websites/apps need a quick IT review before access
- This only applies if you are the first person from Ballinger ISD to try and connect with your school account to that website, since the migration this summer.
📋 What Happens When You Try a New Website
Step 1: You Click "Sign in with Google"
- Website redirects you to Google login
- You enter your @ballingerisd.net credentials
Step 2: You See an Error Message
Don't panic! You'll see something like:
- "Access Blocked" or "Unauthorized"
- "This app isn't verified" or "Admin approval required"
Step 3: Request Access at the Error Screen
When you see the error message, you'll notice an option to request access directly from that screen.
- Click "Request Access" or similar button on the error page
- Fill out the brief form explaining your educational purpose (you do not always get this option)
